About Training |
The aim of this module is to manage training centres, monitor training/course requirements and plan the courses and the training a crew should attend while at the same time tracking the costs and budget of attending these training/courses. This helps to monitor their competence as well as career plan.
A list of Training Centres can be entered into the System along with all courses, fees, duration and schedules of these courses. This allows you to make an informed decision on which training centre to use for a particular crew member as all the relevant information is readily available in the System.
Training Centers can be provided with access to the System. They can then log in and update their Training Center record in the System with new Courses/Training offered, Course cost information, update their Training Schedules and even specify the name of the Course Trainer, among others. So you can rest assured that when planning Course/Training you will always have the latest information from the Training Centers at your finger tips.
The System allows you to define a Training Requirements matrix based on the list of courses and training defined by the company for different vessel types and ranks. Once this matrix is defined, it will be taken into account when planning crew changes in the Training Planner sub module. When a crew member is assigned a particular rank, the System will automatically note that he will need to attend the courses/training required for his rank.
In this module, you can also perform a Training Gap Analysis which enables you to view the training courses that are required in order to work onboard a particular vessel type (based on your company's Training Requirements setup). You can then select a course or select multiple training courses to propose the required training for personnel who is to work onboard that vessel type. In essence, this sub module helps you to identify the training gaps that exists in your pool of crew and ensure that the necessary training courses are provided to ensure the crew competency level.
